I though that it was about time I started showing off some of the pirate captains for a change. Here's the first of the 4 big bads of Pirates vs. Hunters; the captain of the game's resident ninja clan: Kage Sarutobi!
Full Name: Kage Sarutobi
Occupation: Captain of the Blackwing Pirates
Favourite Food: Sushi
Good Traits: strategic, intelligent, rational, stoic
Bad Traits: lust for battle, uncaring, cold, ruthless, arrogant
Power Rating: 9.1/10
"Please, try to make this thrilling while it lasts"
"A good battle is all I seek."
"Maybe your blood can sate my blade."
Kage Sarutobi is feared as one of the most notorious pirates ever to sail the seas. Unlike most pirates, however, he does not seek treasure, nor fame, nor power. His only true desire is to face strong opponents; and cut them with his legendary sword, 'Flash Kill'. This lust for battle is what people fear most; If he shows up at your doorstep and challenges you to a duel, you really don't have a choice, and chances are you're gonna get hurt...a lot. He never kills his opponents though; Kage simply cuts away at his opponent's pride until they lose the will to fight any longer. He does occasionally seek treasure, although he only does this with the sole intent of luring strong treasure hunters and pirates into fighting with him. He has absolutely no qualms or morals about anything, and is willing to do anything and everything to satisfy his thirst for a good battle. He is also quite arrogant and playful during fights, often toying with his foes just to drag out battles.
Kage was born into a secret clan of ninja assassins, and as such was trained from the age of 3 in various ninja arts such as ninjutsu, hand to hand combat and swordplay. He was by far the most talented shinobi his clan had ever seen, many of them referring to him as a genius in all regards. Despite all his talent, he had one fatal flaw: he relished the thrill of fighting, and would often risk himself, his missions and his clan members simply for a good fight. He eventually began to despise his clan's way of life, as they promoted quick ends to fights rather than enjoying it. This, coupled with the rest of his clan's disdain for his actions pushed him to abandon them and live the life of a pirate. He eventually assembled a clan of his own, whom he trains himself and tasks them with the job of seeking out promising opponents. At some point in his life, he heard of the legend of an ancient, enchanted sword, and spent several years seeking it out to wield it himself. After years of searching, he finally recovered the sword from an ancient, hidden shrine deep under the planet's surface.
Being trained in ninjutsu among other things from a tender age, Kage is an extremely deadly opponent. He has high agility, incredibly fast reflexes and a huge intellect as well that allows him to analyze situations and come up with effective strategies almost instantly. He is also extremely proficient in physical combat and possesses incredible strength, speed and stamina. He also keeps a seemingly infinite collection of ninja tools hidden about his person, but his most deadly weapon is without a doubt the Flash Kill. Said to be crafted from a meteorite and enchanted with magic and ancient ninjutsu, the blade syncs with the soul of anyone it recognizes to be powerful enough to be its master. Anyone who isn't will get burned by its malevolent flames. In addition to being stronger, sharper and deadlier than any sword in the world, the sword and it's wielder gain some unique abilities. Kage can summon the Flash Kill at will, anywhere and at anytime. He can also warp to its location at will as well. Flash Kill can also manifest powerful ethereal flames, which can be fired as crescent-shaped sword beams, among other things. Using the power of the Flash Kill, Kage also gains the ability to move at the speed of light for extremely brief periods of time using a technique called 'Afterimage', allowing him to cut through his opponents almost without a hassle. It even leaves a perfect image of Kage behind as he deals critical blows. The sword does have it's weaknesses though. For one, Afterimage is very distance limited, and Kage is left vulnerable for a few seconds after using it as his body recovers from the strain. It also takes a few seconds for him to prepare the move as well. Also, if Flash Kill, at any time, decides that Kage is not strong enough to wield it anymore, he'll never be able to touch it again.
When the Chest of Infinite Bliss suddenly reveals itself to the world, Kage couldn't care less. What really prompted him into seeking the treasure was the multitude of hunters and pirates who were also after it, and the prospect of some enjoyable battles. While on the Carambola Islands, Kage orders his crew to seek out the four keystones and to bring them to him, with the hopes of attracting powerful fighters to his domain for his enjoyment.
